Myntra is one of India's largest fashion and lifestyle marketplaces, and for many apparel, footwear and accessories brands it's the most important online channel. It is also one of the hardest to fulfil well. Orders come in dozens of size and colour variants, dispatch timelines are tight, packaging rules are specific, and fashion returns are far higher than in most other categories.
This guide explains how fulfillment works under Myntra's main seller models, the fashion-specific problems that cost sellers money, what to look for in a fulfillment partner, and how Godamwale runs Myntra fulfillment for brands.
Myntra works with sellers through several business models. The exact terms depend on your agreement, but for fulfillment what matters is who holds the stock and who packs the order.
| Model | Who holds inventory | Who picks & packs | What it means for fulfillment |
|---|---|---|---|
| PPMP (Pure Play Marketplace) | Seller | Seller | You fulfil every order from your own pickup location; Myntra's logistics picks up and delivers. The most common model for new and growing sellers. |
| SJIT (Seller-managed Just-in-Time) | Seller | Seller | You hold stock and process orders, but order flow and consolidation differ from PPMP. Dispatch discipline is just as critical. |
| SOR (Sale or Return) | Myntra warehouse | Myntra | You send stock to Myntra in bulk. Your job shifts to inbound quality, labelling and replenishment, plus handling unsold stock that comes back. |
| Omni / brand-store models | Brand stores or warehouses | Brand | Orders are fulfilled from existing retail or warehouse locations. |
If you are on PPMP or SJIT, the quality of your fulfillment directly shapes your cancellations, returns and seller rating. Even on SOR, you still need a warehouse that can prepare Myntra-compliant inbound shipments and absorb returned or unsold stock.
Myntra's logistics partner collects from the pickup location registered to your seller account. That location can be a 3PL fulfillment centre, which is how brands outsource Myntra fulfillment without changing anything customers see.
One shirt in 4 colours and 6 sizes is 24 SKUs. A catalogue of 200 styles can easily mean thousands of SKUs, each needing its own bin location and accurate count. Picking by eye from piles of similar-looking poly bags is how size mix-ups happen. Barcode-verified picking is the only reliable fix.
Customers order two sizes and keep one. Fit, fabric feel and colour-on-screen differences all lead to returns. For a fashion seller, returns aren't an exception process; they're a daily inbound stream. Every returned unit that isn't inspected, refolded, re-tagged and put back online quickly is a sale you can't make during the season, when it matters.
Sometimes the product that comes back isn't what was sent: it's worn, stained, missing tags, or a different item. Myntra's seller protection policy expects sellers to record quality checks during packing and when receiving returns, and to keep those recordings for at least 90 days. Claims also need clear photos showing the damaged product with the order or return ID. Sellers who don't record packing and return receipt consistently lose claims they should win.
Myntra expects products to be packed to its guidelines, with appropriate poly bags, size-appropriate boxes and correct labelling. Garments should reach the customer with brand tags and MRP labels intact and without crushed folds. That is harder to guarantee when orders are packed in a rush by staff who also handle other work.
Myntra's big sale events, such as the End of Reason Sale, can multiply daily order volumes for several days. At the same time, fashion inventory is seasonal: summer stock has to move before winter stock arrives, and slow sizes must be identified early. You need capacity for the spike, then clear visibility of what's left.
| Factor | In-house | Fashion-ready 3PL |
|---|---|---|
| Size/colour accuracy | Depends on staff experience; errors rise on busy days | Barcode scan at pick and pack |
| Packing & returns evidence | Often inconsistent or missing | Recorded as a standard step for every order and return |
| Returns turnaround | Returns pile up behind outbound work | Dedicated returns process: inspect, grade, re-tag, restock |
| Sale event capacity | Temporary staff, overtime, missed dispatches | Partner scales manpower and space |
| Multi-channel stock | Separate stock or manual syncing | One stock pool for Myntra, Ajio, Amazon, Flipkart, your website and stores |
| Fixed cost | Rent, salaries and supplies every month | Pay mainly for space used and units processed |
Fashion fulfillment quotes have the usual storage and pick-pack charges, plus returns-related charges that matter much more than in other categories. Ask for each line separately.
| Charge | How it's usually billed | Fashion-specific question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | Per bin, shelf, pallet, square foot or CBM per month | Is hanging storage priced differently from flat storage? |
| Inbound & QC | Per unit or per carton | Does inbound include size-wise counting and defect checks? |
| Pick & pack | Per order plus per additional unit | Is packing video recording included? |
| Packaging material | Per order, or at actual cost | Can you use our branded poly bags and boxes? |
| Returns processing | Per returned unit | Does it include inspection, re-folding, re-tagging and repacking? |
| Value-added services | Per unit | What are the rates for tagging, MRP labels, steaming and combos? |
In fashion, divide by orders the customer kept, not orders shipped. A partner with a slightly higher pick-and-pack rate but faster, cleaner returns processing often costs less per kept order, because returned stock gets back on sale during the season.

1. Keep inventory in one flexible warehouse
Instead of building and operating your own warehouse infrastructure, sellers can use Godamwale to receive, store and manage their Myntra inventory.
2. Dispatch inventory when required
Godamwale can manage picking, packing and dispatch based on the seller's fulfillment/replenishment requirements and the agreed Myntra process.
3. Avoid committing to excess warehouse capacity
A 3PL model allows sellers to use warehouse capacity as their business needs change rather than investing in a dedicated facility.
4. Access professional warehouse operations
Receiving, put-away, inventory tracking, picking, packing and dispatch can be handled by the 3PL team.
5. Scale across locations
For sellers expanding across India, a multi-location 3PL network can provide inventory positioning closer to relevant markets or fulfillment points.
Godamwale is a 3PL and warehousing company serving 400+ brands across India. For Myntra sellers, we run fulfillment from our facilities, registered as your pickup location.
If you ship only a few orders a week and returns are rare, in-house fulfillment may still be cheaper for now.
It depends on your model. Under SOR, stock sits in Myntra's warehouse and Myntra fulfils orders. Under PPMP and SJIT, the seller stores the stock and picks, QCs and packs each order, while Myntra's logistics handles pickup, delivery and returns.
Yes. Sellers can fulfil from a third-party fulfillment centre registered as their pickup location, and Myntra's logistics partner collects orders from there. Confirm the change with Myntra seller support before switching.
Returns are received on camera and inspected for wear, stains, damage and missing tags. They're graded: resellable units are re-folded, re-tagged, repacked and restocked, and damaged or incorrect returns are documented with photos and the return ID to support a claim.
Myntra's seller protection process relies on evidence. Recordings of packing and of return receipt, kept for the period the policy requires, help you prove what was shipped and what came back when you raise a claim.
Yes. A single inventory pool across channels reduces total stock and prevents overselling, as long as stock levels are synced to each channel through your order management setup.
Usually through storage, inbound and QC, pick & pack, packaging, returns processing and any value-added services. For a quote, share your SKU count, monthly orders, units per order, return rate and the cities you ship from.
